Hi, everyone.

Been following the Toyota Hot Hatch news with cautious optimism. My family has been a Toyota family for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a steady diet of Initial D and Fast and the Furious and various Gran Turismos and Need for Speeds. My first car was a hand-me-down 91 Celica GT. Taught me a lot about not being a dummy on forums and how to use the search function. I think the first ever forum post I made was "Converting a GT to an All-Trac" which was not received well, as it was well discussed, and was pointless to do.

I then drove my parents' 01 Corolla around for a while, and later on moved on to a 93 Mazda Miata, which I autocrossed. It was tuned and modified by the previous owner and never really felt like my car though.

After that I got a 2011 Honda CR-Z, which will always hold a special place in my heart, but when I bought it, I always knew that I would move on from it.

Since then, my wife and I had some kids, so I sold it and we bought my wife an Outback and I've been driving a 2010 Honda Fit Sport for the past few years. It's honestly a great car for DD, and I'd probably keep it except my knees hit the dash with both car seats in the car. For the past couple years, I've been excitedly waiting for announcements for the new Golf R, WRX, and Integra, and the internet has a lot of opinions about those cars...

I've always hoped that Toyota would return to making fun cars. Spent decades drooling over cars we never got in the US like the E110 Corolla and the Caldina GT-Four. So here I am, waiting for the reveal of the GR Corolla.

Welcome to the forum @ArtJDM!
Is the GR Corolla the only new fun Toyota you're interested in? Or the GR 86 as well?

I've always been interested myself about converting a Celica to AWD so I can understand where you came from haha. Welcome to the forum!

As much as I like the GR86, it's not big enough for my needs, and after having the security of AWD with the Outback (Maybe a half dozen times where it was helpful where I live), I'd really like something with it for myself.
