Nice 😊
I think it'll affect current MKV owners who love their MKV but wished it was a manual more then potential GRC buyers. The Supra is in a different price point then the GRC too.Do you all think the GRC's sales will be affected by the manual supra? They just confirmed it on toyota usa's facebook page and the official gazoo racing instagram page
I'm having this debate now. I can afford both, but not sure which I would choose. The Supra is a sexy ass car. It's super gorgeous in person, fun little two seater sports car that now has a proper transmission (for my tastes). GRC is way more suited to daily imo. Supra is hampered in some eyes as it's not 100% toyota, I think those who feel that way love the GRC for that reason.I’m really curious how the market for the GR Corolla differs from that of the manual supra.
For me, I prefer the GRC because I’m a big rally fan and I love a hot hatch. But for 10-15k more (based on guesses), how many people would prefer a manual supra?
I'm with you in preferring a GRC, partially because of what you mentioned, but mostly cause it's probably a far better daily. 4-doors, a hatch for storage space (or dog space in my case) and better MPG while still being fun to drive.I’m really curious how the market for the GR Corolla differs from that of the manual supra.

personally I hope it takes some of the hype off of the GRC
I’m def not. No matter the “purity” of a manual for some people it won’t be as fast as the zf Supra. Since my car is a daily in shit traffic and a weekend drag strip car I don’t really care. I’m making an exception for a manual with the GRC for the year round usage of it.It's about time! I wonder how many MKV Supra owners are punching the air now?![]()
I like the Supra but having done the FR-S with a family already, I'm not inclined to get another 2 door. It isn't that the 3 of us couldn't fit in the FR-S, it was just that we always grabbed the keys to one of the other cars when it was the whole family because of path of least resistance. That situation would be exacerbated with the 2 seater Supra and I'd resent that the only time I drove it was my commute. Being able to take a weekend trip with the wife and kiddo in the Corolla is going to be a big plus for me.I’m really curious how the market for the GR Corolla differs from that of the manual supra.

If they're putting it in the 2.0 I could see some potential GRC buyers going that route, it's not an expensive car.I think it'll affect current MKV owners who love their MKV but wished it was a manual more then potential GRC buyers. The Supra is in a different price point then the GRC too.
That would be hilarious because the b48 only makes 250ish hp and still has a curb weight of nearly the same as the GRC if that is correctly toldIf they're putting it in the 2.0 I could see some potential GRC buyers going that route, it's not an expensive car.
It's true. Honestly the more I think about it the more I expect them to just put the manual in the 3.0. Buy the GR86 if you want a 200+ hp manual lolThat would be hilarious because the b48 only makes 250ish hp and still has a curb weight of nearly the same as the GRC if that is correctly told
That 6 cylinder is really a gem though. Sounds great, gets shockingly good fuel economy, and apparently Toyota really worked their magic on it to make it more reliable. I thought long and hard about stretching my budget and custom ordering a new M240i, which has the same engine in it, but decided against it because we can’t really make a coupe work and it wound up being more than I should be spending. If they're putting it in the 2.0 I could see some potential GRC buyers going that route, it's not an expensive car.
