Aside from limited space, something like this looks frighteningly close to the perfect vehicle to me...AWD, manual, light, fun, reliable components.
...though in my case with probably 200-300hp so insurance (and maintenance) isn't stupidly high. These things also get good gas mileage with an engine swap because of how light they are. (In a comment, the shop says 45mpg highway with the setup in the video).
Of course the issue would be cost to build or finding one built in good condition for sale (ha!).
