For the most part, yeah. I feel like it’s faster above 60mph than the sti. A few times I was surprised I was already at 85 just varying load and rpm. The handing is amazing at any speed. I wanted this car because of the smaller wheelbase and hatch, and it’s about 200lbs lighter than the STi, but feels way lighter. I’m disappointed in the paint quality.

The dealer didn’t wash it as requested but there were already swirl marks and scuffs in the clear coat. I have a few chips on the hood and elsewhere but not even sure how.

There’s also bare metal showing on the fender flare connected to the rear door straight from the factory. And also the STi stereo makes this JBL sound like crap. I prefer the STi interior except for the customizable dash.

In the end, I’m glad I got out of the STi because I was just worried about it blowing up one day, even though I drive like a grandma. My plans for the GRC are lighter wheels, paint correction and cc, and RK titanium cbe once they make one.
Awesome that's great to hear! Yeah Toyota paint isn't good at all and most people are going the paint correction/PPF/CC route. It seems to me that most people I know that owned a WRX/STI ran into problems so I'm sure it's a relief you're in something new.

This will be my first performance car. I own a 2010 Corolla S 5MT so this thing will probably feel fast to me. It'll be nice once the aftermarket catches up too. Enjoy the car 🤙

Well, 800 miles in and I'm still loving this car! Took it up in the local mountain roads and it was a blast! Will be messing around in expert mode one of these days to see how it really feels in the corners 😏. This was Rt 52 going across the mountain to Ellenville which is the perfect road for this little hot hatch. Hope to see more Tri-State area people get this car because mine is the only one I've seen in the wild around my area haha. Best of luck to everyone trying to get one!👍

Yeah, I know that road and maybe I will shoot down that way when I get my car. Car looks freaking sweet!! Now I see why they call you Lucky Luke! There are a bunch of great roads down by the Catskills and over by Ellenville. I also like going around the Great Sacandaga Lake and take back roads up to Lake George. Some excellent scenic drives up that way. Have fun!!

that is definitely a fun drive! I wanna head up to New Paltz mostly to crush a sandwich from Russo’s Deli. Still haven’t really taken it out in the mountains. 342 on the odometer. I’m gonna hit Storm King maybe Sunday if weather is nice!
Haha yeah there's some nice spots in New Paltz too. That's where she shines man!! We have tons of little backroads by us and usually pretty empty so it's nice for a little local cruise.
