So I decided to make one. Is it because people who are shopping for this car aren't typically from around here? Is there another forum where tri-state people go to? It's so weird that every single other region has people posting in it lol.

Yeah but anybody from tri-state has def heard tri-state before lol. Outside of it, I agree.

Demand really is wild. Each dealer has constant calls and waitlists 20+ strong.

Yeah demand is definitely strong. I am in upstate NY and dealers all around me have gotten allocations but of course not mine. They tell me they should see their allocation soon and to expect the car arriving around February. No big hurry as this will be my second car and not a daily driver. Been following this car for a long time, and looking forward to driving it.

NY resident here. The 2 dealers closest to me want nearly 20k in adm so I'm going to shop upstate. My sales guy also said around February-March is when the car should be here back in October. First new/performance car so pretty exciting stuff! Best of luck to everyone.

Hey Tri State fam. Dutchess County - Beacon NY. I started calling 12/2021 and secured multiple dealers on waiting list. My closest dealer is DCH Toyota in Wappingers Falls but they have theirs listed for > 10K over MSRP. Greentree Toyota in Danbury CT was the only one who would sell at MSRP. Took a $1k deposit 03/2022. Fast forward to 12/15 and I received my allocation. VIN# JTNABAAE1PA001768. Emailed my salesguy for a timeline as it has been in the A phase since 12/15 per Toyota Tracker.

Hopefully more people start chiming in as they get their allocations and excitement. I would love to meet some locals and go on some cool drives. Storm King Mtn is by me and it is so much fun to drive.

The only way to convince people I wasn't making it up was I went on every website first and went to the Contact Us section and copy paste a message script with a link of the release from like Motor Trend or Car and Driver lol. They all called back immediately and then had to be like okay now I know none of this makes sense but believe me!

I'm across the river from you not too far! Congrats on getting one for MSRP. Hopefully I can snag one too I'd love to cruise the road over the mountain towards Ellenville. That's the perfect road for this car lol.

Was not thrilled on red but it is growing. Every pic I have seen it is a different shade which is pretty neat.

Each new Red GR C post on the Toyota GR Corolla Owners FB page make me love it more. The one today from the kid in NC made me drool

I posted in the dealer updates thread but never got any responses. I'm in northern Jersey and got a call from my dealer that their fully loaded core is landing at port on the 7th. He said hopefully I'll have it a couple weeks after that.

I got mine about 10 days ago from Brooklyn. Love the red, and it keeps growing on me. Usually have white cars. Came from a 2020 Sti series.white. I’m in the Newark area. If y’all wanna know anything, just ask.
I’m sure there are plenty others because I’ve called about 30 dealers and most of them were already spoken for, and a few were purchased right from under me.

Congrats on the car! Mine is also coming in red and should be in the states hopefully by the end of this month. Has it lived up to your expectations so far??

For the most part, yeah. I feel like it’s faster above 60mph than the sti. A few times I was surprised I was already at 85 just varying load and rpm. The handing is amazing at any speed. I wanted this car because of the smaller wheelbase and hatch, and it’s about 200lbs lighter than the STi, but feels way lighter. I’m disappointed in the paint quality.

The dealer didn’t wash it as requested but there were already swirl marks and scuffs in the clear coat. I have a few chips on the hood and elsewhere but not even sure how.

There’s also bare metal showing on the fender flare connected to the rear door straight from the factory. And also the STi stereo makes this JBL sound like crap. I prefer the STi interior except for the customizable dash.

In the end, I’m glad I got out of the STi because I was just worried about it blowing up one day, even though I drive like a grandma. My plans for the GRC are lighter wheels, paint correction and cc, and RK titanium cbe once they make one.
