Went through with the Marsh1 horns and harness and they’re great. I took a couple videos of before and after sounds, I just can’t figure out how to post the videos.
Much louder than stock and also a way better tone and not the stock meep-meep roadrunner sound lol

Just did the Hella dual air horn upgrade, wow, now it's SUV level honk! I didn't realize it was air level until I installed it. Now I can actually hear the horn...

The set below didn't need anything else (i.e. grounds) except for an extra 10mm bolt, washer, nut from Auto Zone to mount the second horn on the opposite side of the frame.

Did the hella horn upgrade today as well. Did you remove the bracket holding the right horn on? it brings both the same level at least..
The best upgrades are the ones done for cheap am i right?

Haha, absolutely sir. Cheap DIY mods are my Sunday morning special moments.

I removed bracket holding OEM puny horn yes, but I ended up using it on the other side with the second horn where it sort of helps with laying it more flat against the bolt hole.

Have always been partial to the traditional Italian dual horns, still have an original set from way back.
For my current cars, I use the set from Harbor Freight, as they sound nearly identical. Oil the compressor once every year or so, use them occasionally to keep the vanes in the compressor freed up.

I have them mounted on a single piece of aluminum flat bar behind the grill. They give a strong, yet polite reminder.

You sir are a horn connoisseur!

I looked recently, and because the original Fiamm Fiat airhorns were shared with Ferraris, the epay prices are now insane.
Used to be able and grab them for $10 from junkyards, lol.

HF is a much better option.

I do like the more tame note that they have, around here (pacific northwest) people are shooting each other for using a car horn!

Funny horn story, years ago was driving my old ‘92 Corolla on an elevated section of a highway when an inattentive driver was just starting to drift over into my lane in front of me. At that exact moment, a train in the switching yard below lays on the horn, was quite loud. Slob driver immediately snapped back into their lane…

Yup, I hear that, lots of daydreamer drivers in sunny socal as well. I'm generally a defensive driver anyhow, I'm generally scanning for idiocy on the roadways, you just never know what level idiot you're dealing with on the road

The one I notice generally is the lane drifter = massive SUV driver who is texting or just doesn't know how to drive.

I like the horn in my tacoma, IDK why toyota can just have that horn across the range. This tiny, puny, horn is embarrassing.
Embarassing is an understatement! probably one of those things the GR / Sakimoto San dev team didn't want to spend money on esp. since it would just add ounces of weight, same goes for a more robust sound system. Frankly, my Gen 4 Prius has a great horn, and stock sound system (not even JBL, there's actually rear bass!).

Swapped out my stock meep meep horn for the Hella horns someone else did a while back. The new horns are low and loud!! Just the decibal increase alone is HUGE. Sounds like a horn from a BMW, Infiniti, Audi, etc, etc. Some things I noticed when doing the install:

1. All you need to do to access the horns are to remove the plastic clips, in order to remove the plastic shroud above the front grille area within the engine bay area. Then just a 12mm bolt to remove the original horn. That's it.
2. The horns will not work if not bolted onto the car since they need to be grounded. I almost gave up installing the new horns thinking they didn't work until I realized this...
3. The original straight body color painted bracket the OEM horn is mounted on is needed when mounting two dual tone Hella horns in the same place since the stock plastic airbox funnel thing mounted above needs the clearance.
4. I've noticed some people have drilled a hole on the other side of the engine bay, in order to mount the second horn, but this would require significantly more effort to mount the horns this way. I just mounted both horns using the original 12mm bolt from the oem horn in the same place. You can barely see the new horns from the front in person. The original horn was visible in the same spot, so things were never visually symmetrical anyway from the front.

If you want to do a quick modification to your horns, it's an easy 15 minute job and about $45 in parts from Amazon. You just need the Toyota Hella horns and Toyota specific wiring splitter harness that connects to where you unclip the original horn. The other end of the wiring harness then is split and connects directly to each horn with the Toyota specific clip built onto the Hella horns. Easy as that. Oh, I also just zip tied the slack in the wiring harness cables to the mounting brackets built onto the horns. Works great!

I recently took the plunge and decided to amp up my horn game. The result? A more assertive and attention-grabbing horn that adds a whole new dimension to my driving experience. So, you're thinking about upgrading your horn, and I've got some insights to share, especially if you're rolling in a standard Corolla Hatch.

I recently tinkered with mine, and here's the scoop: the Ryobi Train Horn Gun could be your secret weapon for that extra oomph in the horn department.

What I love about it is how it fits right into the standard CHB setup. No need for major overhauls; it's like a glove! Installation was a breeze, which is a major win if you're not a DIY expert.

Nice setup. Could you share parts/install details?
I had most of the things I needed so I’ll do my best to lay it out for you.

Horns w/o relay: Amazon.com
14 gauge wire: Amazon.com

The first thing you’ll want to do is mount the horns. The horn on the passenger side will require making a hole using a long drill bit. I forgot what size bit I used but it just needs to be large enough to fit the bolts you use to secure the horns. Just be extremely careful when you drill the hole. You’ll need to have the drill bit come through the grill on the left side of the Toyota emblem.

I made a custom harness using a piece of pull string to measure the length of wire I needed. You’re going to need four 16-14 gauge female spade connectors (ends that connect to the horns and ground), one 12-10 gauge male spade connector (two leads from the horns joined to one connector and connects to the factory harness/power), heat shrink tubing, and stainless bolts+lock washers+washers (to secure the horns).

Not much to it honestly. Super simple wiring. I wanted it to look as clean as possible which is why I went with black wire and pointed the horn terminals towards the bottom so I could hide the wiring.

Good luck!
