Hey There!

Hey folks, how's it going? I'm Ren. I've been a casual lurker for some time - popping in and out to read the latest and greatest on the GRC, and now I've finally taken the plunge and created an account for myself! I'm located in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts, USA and have been a longtime Toyota driver. I learned on a 2010 Toyota Tacoma SR5 TRD Off-road, which, coincidentally, has just ticked over 60,000 miles this year! From there, I've owned a variety of different cars, from Audi to Mercedes, Maserati to Jaguar, and everything in between and beyond you can imagine. My daily driver is a 2017 Jaguar XF 20d Prestige, my barn find/restoration project is a 1-owner 1988 Ford Mustang GT, and I recently sold my W212 E 63 AMG. Although I'm eagerly awaiting a chance to snag a GRC, I've also got one of my "endgame" Italian toys coming in soon, so I may update later on that.

As far as hobbies and interests go, I'm all over the place; in addition to being a car fanatic, I'm also an avid cyclist, swimmer, skier, equestrian, roller skater, and so much more. I read, write, film, photograph, and create all sorts of things. I'm very much into roleplay/storytelling games like Dungeons & Dragons, I'm big into travel, I'm a massive foodie, and you better believe I am a humongous geek.

Final note before I go, I don't know what place I am on the waitlists, or whether there's even a likelihood I'll get the GR I'm hoping for, but I placed my deposit with Toyota of Watertown, MA on April 2, 2022, so I'm hoping I was close enough to first that I can actually snag a car! I'm really only interested in owning the Circuit, so I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed here. To all the others out there waiting as patiently as I am, good luck, I hope you're all able to get your ideal cars as well!

Edit/Update 02/01/2023: Since posting back in August of 2022, I've since acquired one of my endgame cars. It's been fantastic so far and I can't wait to have it back out for the warm weather in a couple months. That does mean my plans with the GRC have changed a teensy bit; initially, I was hoping the GR would be the weekend driver, but I suspect it may end up taking the place of daily workhorse, so here's how I'm envisioning things; the Jaguar will be consigned in the coming weeks. Assuming it sells in a timely manner (and for a reasonable price), I'm hoping to secure a 1997 or 1998 Toyota Century.

This will be a daily driver, so I'm going to be looking for a gently used example to import, but we'll cross that bridge once we get there. As for the GR, I will either have to sell or trade the Century once I can confirm a Corolla delivery, or list my barn find Mustang and see what kind of action that gets. The space constraints are a huge deal, so no matter which route I take, something will have to go once the GRC comes in, if it comes in.

Based on what I'm seeing in the Forum Spreadsheet, I may be among the first 2 people at my dealership, but they aren't confirming placement yet, so we'll see then. If, by some chance, I cannot secure a GRC, then I'll still have a fantastic Century to fall back on and enjoy for years to come. And if even that fails, my Jaguar is just barely clocking 32,000 miles on its turbodiesel engine, so I'm sure that will be enough entertainment until something else comes along.

And that's that! Thanks for stopping by! I wish everyone the absolute best of luck. I hope you're all able to secure the GRC you've been looking for and I hope you all have a blast driving them! Cheers!

Glad to have fellow nerds here. I mostly play video games, but I've been known to dabble in some DnD when my friend group actually decides to be active. We not long ago ended a roll20 campaign because no one (myself included) could pay attention enough to participate in roll20. I would usually play Rimworld in the background... Lol
