Where are you from?

I am from Houston, TX. Specifically, the Cypress area.

What's your current car? Project cars?

I own a 2017 Lexus IS350 F Sport, a supercharged 2007 Toyota Camry, a JDM hard top 1995 Toyota MR2 G Limited, and a 4WD 5-speed 1996 Honda Acty. Pictures are below.

What's your hobbies?

I am a huge car enthusiast and driver. I do a lot of sim racing and karting. I also enjoy PC building, gaming, anime, Asian foods, and Formula 1.

Of all the cars on your list, the supercharged Camry intrigues me the most.

How much power? How did you tune it? Most importantly, why?

I've joined with my wife about doing stuff to her 16 Camry, but I don't know that I've ever seen a modified Camry outside of exhaust and cosmetics.

Haha why is a great question. I don't exactly have a satisfactory answer for it. It probably defies logic. The car has somewhat of a story though.

This car was handed down to me from my father as my first car when I graduated. I was never fond of how it looked, so being a young and dumb kid, I riced the car out. After a few years and many mistakes, I was guided down a better path by some mentors and started redoing the car.

Eventually, it got out of hand. When you go in that deep, there's pretty much no turning back.

The engine is technically an engine swap from a factory TRD car in Australia called the TRD Aurion. Only 537 of those cars were produced. I purchased the engine from a wrecker in Melbourne, Australia.

They came stock with 323 BHP. It has the factory map with a few bolt on. I haven't dynoed it, but it's definitely at least 300 WHP. A healthy 100 HP over the stock V6 I'd say.

The car is also metal wide bodied. Crafted by hand by my body shop guy in Dallas. It has 8 piston front calipers and 6 piston rear calipers. It was featured in VIP Style Magazine last year and has won Judge's Choice at Wekfest.

TLDR. I'm crazy and probably a little sentimental. 😂

That is legitimately the best story I've ever heard about a Camry. Lol.

I wonder how many folks see you driving that thing down the road and assume you're a ricer, then you whip out that SC V6 and show them who's boss.

Haha, it happens more than you think. I can't wait to add a GR Corolla to my Toyota collection.

Who's your body guy? Knowing how to work sheet metal is a dying art, and I would love to take some projects to him!

You know it!
@KanmuriDavid

I've seen your Camry at so many shows in and around Texas and funny enough I never was able to meet the owner (you), but anytime I've seen your car I've voiced to whoever was around me that the owner has a keen eye on clean VIP-styling and OEM+ upgrades... one of the best overall builds I have seen for a platform many do not touch. Excellent work!

I also was at the show you had it displayed at for the Oishii Imports... a great collection too.

Small world! I appreciate the kind words. We definitely need to get a GR Corolla Houston group going when they are released!
That rav looks a little close 🤔
