Fuck I took 4 years of Japanese in high school and I only understand a TINY fraction of what he’s saying haha
I feel ya there. I took 4 years of Mandarin and I still struggle to translate when listening. Great at reading or writing though 😂

GRMN rally package. Roof is real dry carbon instead of a wrap. Roll cage is hidden inside of headliner. I dont think this would be street legal here. 15” rims, so hopefully the GRC can fit 15’s too? Like how he was saying he’d take responsibility for crackng the corner trim and buy the car.
I treally hope they make a ME rally edition.

I know it won’t happen but I wish they brought the Yaris here in small batches. To see both the GRC and GRY rolling around here would be awesome.

It's interesting because from what I've seen, 17's barely clear on the GRY and depend on your backspacing. It's hard to tell if they decreased the caliper size for the rallies since the calipers are black and blend in with the shadows but I don't see any mention of changing brake specs on the official spec sheets and all. I found on a CNET article "The Rally pack includes a roll cage, different shocks, new stabilizers and skid plates. One of Toyota's photos also shows a Rally pack car that has the Circuit pack's wing, smaller wheels with off-road tires and mud flaps, though no info is given about those parts." Maybe part of the upgrade and personalization program?

Hey, I think that's Katsuta senior! Interesting that the codriver was using English pacenotes; I've heard that English is one of the more "efficient" languages when it comes to rally pacenotes.
I didn’t know whether to put it in the WRC thread or here but me and Wyno were talking about him awhile ago, I’m happy he still goes for it.

Best Motoring's Hot Version of the GRMN Yaris!

With the amount of additional work/parts done to the standard model, seems to have justified the price? I also like how Tsuchiya-san described another brand's tires as "BS", possibly referring to Bridgestone? :ROFLMAO:

wtf it's just an expensive yaris. how can it be so good? (n)
Uh, yeah.... I'm sure you know by now, its pretty much Yaris only in name. I think you wanted a smiley in there?
Like I've been saying from the start, for someone to go in and do the body stiffening that itself would cost a bunch. Like they said, you have to strip the car, sand off paint, then spot weld it and put it back together. To have it done at the factory is much better, and the paint will be factory finish. And like they said, beyond just the cost of the parts, there's all the r&d that went into them. The rear spoiler wasn't just some cool looking spoiler they slapped on, I'm sure they wind tunnel tested and they mentioned they ran it for the Super Taikyu series and it performed well.
Hm, and they asked about a GRMN 86. No one could say, but it sure sounds like its under development.

Rally spec has smaller brakes + different uprights(?). Similar(?) spec as RC variant (JPN only)
Would be a nice upgrade for sure, just to fit better tire (gravel + spikes)

There's few aftermarket kit's available already.
