Here is the Toyota Press Release

The test mules all have the G16E and it's very obvious if you listen to the exhaust.

Even if it has the 3-pot engine and costs between $60K-$67K, I’ll still consider trading in, especially if it comes with a manual transmission, an upgraded clutch, and shot-peened synchros. With the suspension, wheels, seats, and hopefully upgraded valve springs, you’re looking at a potential $10k markup. Add the hood, wing, fenders, or any of the other bits in CFRP and you're looking at the other 7k. Hopefully they don't VIN lock the parts in case people want to just upgrade thier parts individually on the older versions.

So wait, still the same chassis? I thought it was a full refresh. Same motor too.

Honestly not enough to tempt me at all. I’d rather tune what I have now that I bought for 45k otd and have a very good financing rate on.

I get the feeling between materials costs, potential tariff impacts and just general price inflation of all things this car just won’t make financial sense for me personally.

Someone posted this, but if real it shows the GRMN badge on the back (which really isn't a secret given the camo in Larry's video is a rectangle in the exact size of the GRMN badge lol).

EDIT: yep it is indeed a real image of the car.

Its def not a car for regular people. I laugh every time people are like omg, I want rear seats and and the windows have to roll down. They're trying to sell a street legal race car lol...

If this thing is going to sell any where near $65k, I would expect far more than just fancy aero parts and a tuned suspension. Like others have said, Morizo 2.0. Only the G20E would make it worth the investment and justify the price tag.

As much as I would love that combo, it's sadly not going to happen. I'll wait for someone to do an engine swap and align the universe. I don't think the G20E will ever make it into this chassis. Toyo has other plans for it (MR2 or GRC 2.0).

To be continued...

I knew Best Car covered this thing back in October, but I wasn't aware that they gave power figures and price as well.

Apparently 310PS, 42kg-m, and 8,000,000yen

So, I compared the exchange rates vs what Toyota charges in the US relative to other JP models and that puts the price of the GRMN at $65k.

Yeah, Best Car even rendered that exact car with all the changes too lol. I had them saved for a little bit, but they're out here if anyone is curious.

EDIT:

There we go.
