Hi,

I took the pictures, but need to write instructions. That is correct, the battery slots in to that side, and the board (with the black plastic removed) slots into the side with the buttons.

I’ll have the instructions finished by tomorrow.

thanks!

Harry
No worries. I actually just did what you explained and it works and fits as advertised. I didn't know to disassemble the mother board part. Thanks.

I got the fob together and I'm loving the size and the "OH FUCK" button! I might put an epoxy coat on it to protect the ABS. I had originally planned to do that to smooth out the print but it isn't necessary at all thanks to GRey's hard work with the finishing. I've never been able to get any of my prints finished as well as this. Great job! I'm a very happy customer.

Hi all,

Just made aware of this:

I want to let you all know that this is 100% NOT me. There is someone on Etsy selling these trash prints, for nearly double what I’m selling mine for.

If anyone has any issues with me, or hasn’t received anything you’ve ordered from me, I’m quite active on these forums, virtually every day. Those who have ordered from me have only done so in the past two weeks or so, as I just started accepting orders at the very end of August.

I also do not have these keys listed anywhere else but here. If you see them for sale on Etsy, eBay, Facebook, etc, that is NOT me.

Thanks for listening!

Edit - also, I do not use Facebook at all. Have not logged in for several years.

Got mine a few days ago. Didn’t have time until now.

These are the slimmed key fobs I’ve collected throughout the last 18 months.

No doubt the smallest one. I thought the one in the middle was already pretty good compared to the oem key fob. This one felt even better.

The fit of buttons don’t feel as precise as the other two, I reckon it’s due to the limitation of the consumer grade 3D printer. With the final size, it’ll probably sit in my pocket more, rather than the cupholder, where I find my key fob most of the time. Once it is in my pocket, I don’t think that will be an issue.

I’ve had some trouble with the range of the remote locking with the other two. Will test them out when I have time.

Overall, would definitely recommend, especially if the size matters to you….. 🤣

The FB post now says "This Facebook post is no longer available. " I saw someone in a GRC group ask about key fobs and thought he was talking about you, but I know from his post it was an Etsy account, like FMeister or some shit. Apparently it was someone else. Got it.

What brand is the middle one?

For anyone wanting to try and go the super-extra step, you can use a nail buffing square to get a smooth shine on it if you'd like to try. View attachment 39203
I polished mine to a mirror finish on a buffing wheel. No compound needed, just a bare flannel wheel.

However, ABS is quite soft and will show micro scratches if you just run your finger over it. I will either hit it with some 2000 grit and have a matte finish or spray it with clear.

Did you do the instructions yet? I am an idiot when it comes to stuff like this so i dont want to attempt anything without instructions. Which other folks are probably like "dude, its so easy".. but i know myself.. i will screw it up without instructions.
Yes, apologies, I’ve been stuck away from my PC at work for the past couple of days, but they are done. I’ll give them another proofread first thing in the morning and get them posted, since I’ll be home.

Thanks for your patience!

I'll be posting the instructions here in just a bit.

First, more importantly, it looks like a couple of the keys are stuck in USPS locations, and at least one that I know of shows as delivered, but was not.

If you have paid for your key, but have not yet received it, please let me know via PM. I'd like to make sure everyone is taken care of ASAP. :)

Thanks!

Got the key set up (don't be an idiot like me and not notice the two different screw lengths) and it seems like a great solution for now. Oddly enough I had some issues with the oem key with car not locking on first press - haven't had any issues with this one. Thanks GRey for the print!

Only thing I wish for is a place to put the manual key...

Hi all,

Apologies for being AWOL again for a bit - I owe you some updates!

First, I've shipped all of the keyfobs which needed to be replaced, unless we've otherwise discussed it. Thankfully USPS only lost a few, which is better than I expected.

Second, INSTRUCTIONS!

These should be visible to anyone with the link, but please let me know if that is not the case. :)

Lastly, I will be working on another batch of keys, which will be ready to ship in the next couple of days. I still have some new orders rolling in, so if you were on the fence about ordering one, or getting a second one, now's your chance, as they'll be hot off the presses. :)

Thanks all!

Alright, just a quick update, and some sad news!

First - I've sold the GR Corolla. With the wife retiring to focus on her next career (working for herself) next year, I need to focus on dialing down the overall expenditures, so it unfortunately didn't make the cut. We have plenty of other vehicles to drive, so it was barely getting driven anyway, but I was definitely sad to see it go! I'll probably replace it with a dirt cheap project car next spring when I get my bonus, otherwise I'll get too bored.

A couple of positives on the back of that, though. I've decided to stay active within the community for the moment, as it's not like I'm moving to some other fun community to fill that void. I will keep printing keys for as long as people keep asking for them, and I do plan on working on some revisions (waterproofing being at the top of the list), but will need someone else to test them out. I'll post when I'm ready to do something like that!

Another positive is that a few more cool things will be hitting the marketplace in the next day or so. Just to whet everyone's appetite, I'll be selling my new-in-box Coolerworx v2 shifter, my Weds TC105X (bronze), preferably local as they still have tires mounted, FitCamX dash cam, and Weathertech rear seat cover, just washed and re-waterproofed. Maybe some other things if I happen to find some other stuff I forgot about!

Anyway, the update that matters to you all! Any keys which have gone lost in the mail have been reshipped, aside from one person who just let me know yesterday. I've also just finished printing up a new batch of keys, so for the couple of people who have been waiting to buy one, they are now available. I have a bunch available, so there should be little to no wait to get one.

As for the revisions I mentioned, those are probably a bit further off - possibly over the next few months. For anyone who has already purchased a key, and wants one of the updated keys once I've finished prototyping and printing them, I'll definitely be offering you a substantial upgrade discount. Not sure what any of that will look like yet, but I will 100% take care of you! :)

Thanks again all, I really cannot thank you enough for all of your support!
