I agree with what you’ve said. I think a casual way to interact with other community members would be nice though.Discord servers are nice for casual back and forth but they're not indexed, eg. you can't Google search an issue and see a result from a discord chat. It's sort of the same problem I have with Facebook groups. In ~10 years when people pick these cars up on the used market and are trying to figure out quirks and issues, you could (probably) view this forum and find the answer, without registering for the website. I can't say the same about FB/Discord. Forums not only serve as a venue for discussion but as a publicly accessible repository of information gathered by the people posting there.
