Australian car sites have received confirmation from Toyota. Here's what Car Expert had to say Toyota GR Corolla revealed: 2022 Australian launch confirmed!

And in New Zealand:

"“This is the car that a lot of people have been waiting for,” said Neeraj Lala, CEO of Toyota NZ. “The addition of the GR Corolla just goes to show we are going to continue to offer a vehicle for all customer needs as we move towards electrification.”

I wonder if we will get the circuit pack here as I’m seeing some posts stating that it will be a specific special edition for US only. Would be a shame not to have it here too as a top of the range ‘Rallye’

We are definitely getting two different specs. My dealer asked if I wanted top or base spec (I went top). I'm only interested in the US circuit version with the rear wing, carbon fibre roof and bonnet bulge so hopefully all that is on our top spec version.

I definitely want the same and told my dealer too, what are your thoughts on colour? I love that heavy metal colour as it will be more exclusive and metallic. It shows off the lines of parts nicely but I like white too only because there’s more contrast between the body and grills etc parts. I have a feeling it won’t be a pearl white though, probably just solid white like on our base GR Yaris here

I'm went with silver (heavy metal) but I agree that the white looks pretty good as well. I'm still yet to see the circuit version in red though.

Hopefully it has no crazy effect but I am sure there will be easy ways to get around that when the time comes either way, shouldn’t be anything to be too concerned about

Looks like our one will be about 4kw weaker.

Damn. Yeah I saw the difference a few days ago in some of the Australian reports and was hoping it was just a mistake. Not ideal but like they said it shouldn't be noticeable. I am just hoping there aren't any other changes made in the "Australian tuned" cars. If there are I may look at other options.

I am slightly annoyed at the low production volumes. I mean, people over here are selling their GR Yaris second hand for more than it cost them to buy. I can't escape the feeling Toyota are trying to suck people into paying VW Golf R, Audi S3 or AMG A35 money for a Toyota Corolla...

I think the top spec will be close to Golf R money (and I wouldn't mind paying that). Hopefuly the base model with the dual LSDs option is a more affordable price.

I think NZ will only get one spec for the GRC due to our low market volume, the fully specced one like what we had with the GRY (equivalent to the rallye/circuit pack) so we probably won't get a choice. That is not a bad thing, I don't mind all or nothing as long as I can afford it!
