i'm getting my car in a few days. it's driving me crazy that there's so many complaints about the car not oversteering and NOBODY trying to solve it. not even an attempt. i'll do it my fking self
Sooooooo, yesterday took the car out for lunch. Put it in sport/expert (nannies off), and put it in track mode (50/50). Car currently has snow tires too. Got on it doing a turnaround and the car swung out SIDEWAYS, very easy to catch and throttle out of. I was shocked cause I used to do that in my rear wheel drive frs when I needed a giggle.

I would say either A) They weren't really getting on it enough in the right mode, or B) The tire compound is having that much of a difference (pilot sport 4 vs. blizzaks)
Pilot Sport 4 seems to be a fairly mediocre tire. I would swap them out ASAP. Most people agree they are too loud on the highway, mediocre on the track, and not that fun on the street. GR86/BRZ owners seem to complain about them a lot. The complaints of understeer and lackluster steering feel in the GRC are partially because of the PS4.

Tyre Reviews on youtube has a lot of videos where he tests and compares PS4 to other Summer Tires and they always lose out to competitors.

Just giving you guys a heads up, Jack from SavageGeese has an allocation slotted for April. Random, but I thought I’d throw that out there.

Mark also talked about Jack being over the GR86 after a year, and I’ve seen Jack say he thinks the 86 is more fun than the GRC.

So anyone expecting the ā€œlong termā€ review to be beneficial in any other way over what we’ve seen so far is being hopeful/generous.šŸ˜‚

Dude owns a C8 Z06, no wonder he is bored with GR86 and GRC lol. Doesn't mean the cars are bad, it's just a matter of perspective. His long term series is more to showcase realities of ownership and reliability issues.

Yeah what I was saying earlier was his ā€œlong termā€ review isn’t really going to cover anything we don’t know, and the fact he keeps saying he’s on the fence about the allocation means it’s going to be pretty uninspired.

Which is why I was saying he shouldn’t even bother.

jack is a slut for oversteer, which i deeply respect. i think he'll figure out a way to turn the grc into a gry essentially and end up loving it

Highly doubt it

He’ll put it to work and take it to the track here and there, talk about the AWD possibly overheating if he has the issue, will do everything everyone else is already doing then sell it after 2 or 3 videos.

look. this is a grc forum. we need to copium eachother til we're practically brainwashed. anything negative is a ban

starting to think you might be a Type R shill that created the forums as a means to control the narrative.

what's next, you're gonna tell me that the circuit edition won't have back seat pockets either???

The fact this is a GRC forum is why I’m blunt, we know more than most people so far.

Think about it man, most recent reviews to drop are followed by ā€œwe already knew what they were gonna say but here’s another oneā€ šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

yeah pretty much. every reviewer is gonna have their own personal values and bias. SG tend to like tactile cars that let's you do stupid shit at medium-high hp while also being chill for the street. from what i've seen in all their videos anyway. whereas someone like doug is like a kid in a candy shop and likes cars that are interesting or special feeling. it makes sense why doug would like it more than SG.

SG aren't really gonna change their minds after their terrible first drive in it. It soured them way too much along with the marketing lol

the whole GR86 review was a weird one though. I think they overdid it on the suspension ( was free ) and then it was just too much for the street and there were clunks etc.

God they were so sour (and still are) lol. It was definitely hot, one of our hottest summers in decades but that didn't stop a bunch of ppl from enjoying it. I remember watching Cammisa and Jason from Engineering Explained enjoy the hell out of it. Jason couldn't stop putting laps in.

But I'm learning savage geese is very specific (and occasionally inconsistent) about what they do/don't find value in so it's whatevs. Just another opinion.

I agree, that’s for a car he likes too.

So when he’s asking people if he should do a long term on the GRC I laughed a little, make 3 little videos for views then move on. Just do a long term on your new Z06. Lol

I’ll admit I defended their opinion on the car, as the car isn’t for everyone, but them trying to do a long term makes it all sound stupid to me. šŸ˜‚

they were pretty straight forward negative and others you mentioned were overly positive
