I’m not surprised I just don’t see the point in calling it a circuit edition they should’ve just called it some other special edition, because the sort of takes away from the whole 1500 units specialty of it
100% agree with this. I figured there would have been other special editions, but now this just takes away from the exclusivity of it. I would have hoped it would have been a 1st year only for circuits and probably takes away a lot of the hype/motivation for people waiting exclusively for a circuit. Now its just a toyota GRC STI basically.

I may be in the minority, but I don't care about the exclusivity. Long term, I want the parts to be available and easy to get.
For myself, this is the last fun car I planned to ever buy, so I wanted it to be something a bit more than special. The GRC itself is special on some level, but I wanted it to be a little more than that so I could make it a memorable and lasting purchase like people who bought a launch edition supra. May rethink now whether this is worth waiting for now that the GRC is just a WRX and the CE is now just an STI.

I owned special edition cars from 2016-2020 then something ruined them for me. I’m in the car industry and I was talking to people from the Subaru’s corporate office. I was talking about the special editions in the BRZ and STI and they made a point to tell me that the special editions literally exist to keep momentum in sales especially in performance cars. I mean, it’s no secret right? But being told this pretty much killed them for me.

My perspective on special edition cars changed because I see the weight of the business influence compared to the value of exclusivity (and even some upgrades).

The only exception to me are factory/tuned cars like the S2000 CR, BRZ tS, S209, Morizo Edition (to name a few).

The Circuit Edition is cool and if you really want one you should get it (you’d be fine in a fully loaded Core though). The increased supply should help out a little in bringing the car to market.
You're not wrong for sure that its about building hype. It still does help that special edition hold value better as well as feel a little more special knowing you were able to get something a little more exclusive.

The WRX/STI comparison is way off. Those cars have different engines, suspension, differentials etc. A GRC core with PP is exactly the same car as a circuit without a spoiler, carbon roof, and nicer seats.
Not referring to performance differences so much as rarity of trim level. Was hoping the Circuit would have maintained rarity similar to the launch edition supra(which is also no different performance wise from the regular 3.0)
