There doesn't seem to be much good, credible information on the GR Super Sport. There are claims it was axed due to a serious accident in a test mule at Fuji, but there's only one source.

It should be noted that the rules do not require them make an entire homologation special anymore, just the car's engine and hybrid unit.

Given the hypercar uses a 3.5L twin turbo V6, I would presume this requirement has already been fulfilled. However, I couldn't find anything to confirm how it fulfilled homologation requirements. It all gets very technical.

TLDR. I don't know.

I wonder if the V35A-FTS, the new V6 twin turbo engine, is related to homologation in any way.

• 2021–present Land Cruiser (VJA300)
• 2021–present Tundra/Tundra Hybrid (VXKA70/71/72/75/76/77)
• 2021–present Lexus LX 600 (VJA310)

I’m sure there is some relation. A variant is rumored to be in that GT3 concept car whenever they build it or whatever it’s being built as.

Not Gazoo Racing related, but this LMP2 took out the Corvette GTE Pro car, who was battling for first in class, with 6 hours left.

The worst part about the crash too is the GTE Pro leader was AF Corse. The car that crashed the Corvette out was an AF Corse LMP2. 🤔

Fantastic race! Sad that the #7 had those early Hybrid system issues but they pulled it back nicely. Another great year for GR!
