DE / NJ / MD folks that have a GRC?

Hey Fellas! I live in the Newark, DE area, and have been patiently waiting (got in line about 14 months ago for a ME). I expect it’ll be a long wait but that’s ok I’ve got time! My current fun daily driver is a ‘18 FK8 which I bought brand new. It’s totally stock with the exception of a set of Rays 18” forged wheels which I installed almost immediately (the roads are just too bad around here for the 20s, plus I like the look of the 18s vs 20s). It’s fairly low mileage and still factory fresh/new (17k miles. I only drive it during non winter months). Just recently 6 weeks ago I had some surgery on my left shoulder (rotator cuff; let me tell you that SUCKED) and I’m just now getting back to driving stick again and enjoying life. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys who are somewhat local would like to meet up and go driving the back roads and compare the cars, now that the weather has turned and is super nice? It would be cool/fun and we could take some pics/vids and burn some dead dinosaurs and exercise some hot hatches! 😊

Todd

PS here’s a pic of my FK8 (of course in Championship White!):

I'll bring my Veloster N. Now we just need a Focus RS and Golf R to show up!

Also, there's a local club meet from Noon - 4 PM on Sunday, May 21st at Crooked Crab Brewing Co. in Odenton, MD if you guys are interested. It's mostly a Mid-Atlantic 86 Club meet but all are welcome. One of the chillest car clubs around, think Cars & Coffee but with pizza and beer.

I'm sure no one would mind if three of the best modern hot hatches pull up. I'll go if I take delivery by then

Damn I’m sorry guys - I’ll almost certainly be at the Jefferson 500 Vintage road race festival at Summit Point Raceway in WV that weekend

I'm down! It's not that secret, haha. Front Royal -> Fort Valley -> Luray -> Thornton Gap.

Nice blend of chill and fun, hopefully the last stretch isn't too busy, it's the best part for spirited driving.
Oh boy that definitely looks like a fun place to drive! But damn it’s a 4 hr drive from my door to the start of it (that is a LOT of driving for one day; 8 hrs to get there and back plus the actual drive!). I gotta think about that; might be a bit much
Totally understandable! I don't know too many good driving roads in a more central location, but Catoctin Mountain Park in MD is decent. Can't go as fast, but that's alright.

@Dan @d15b7 I'm also game to meet at a more central spot, like Baltimore which is kind of a midway point for all of us. I just don't know any good driving roads up that way
Ya baltimore area from me is about 60 miles which isn’t bad at all. That Catoctin Mountain Park is about 90 miles from me which is doable for me too (I’ve never been there but sounds like fun driving)
