Unfortunately, I don’t think they will have any problems selling the Morizo for $20K over MSRP.
Especially when they are actually getting $10K over MSRP for the base model Core with 5000 copies.
I hate to say this but $20K over is actually on the low side.
There are only 200 copies being produced this year which makes it super rare and an instant collector’s. Besides it being a legit badass rally car. It will be worth way more in the future.
You can’t fight the law of supply and demand.
There will be 8000 ”copies” next year. And 8000 copies each year for the next 2 after that.
I hate to say this but paying 75k for a Corolla is just stupid, even a collector. If they came out with Air Jordan Toilet Paper tomorrow “in very limited quantities” well most people certainly aren’t going to pay more than what their normal toilet paper costs.
And legit rally car? You can’t be serious. It does not have the suspension, the ground clearance, nothing, to be a rally car. Please see WRC current regs, and examples from the factories. The Morizo is a souped up Corolla meant for a road circuit not a rally stage. And it has the same problem as the Core and Circuit, needing to be modified for track use as the cooling for the rear diff and AWD system is not sufficient.
You can’t fight stupidity. A GR Supra is a much more capable and faster car around a circuit and you can get one for $55k. You can get a M Car for less than 75k, including a C8 Corvette. That kind of money puts you in Cayman turf, and a whole list of other much more capable automobiles.
