I exported the allocation data and ran a map update recently. Along with making some map improvements.

Data for this comes from multiple channels. We get updates at allocation time which broadly gives us which dealers get which cars. Then we go find Canadian VINs and link those to dealerships. In the process there are Canadian VINs found that were not present in the allocation dumps (especially for BC). So additional cars get backfilled into the allocation table once we know about them. This data is largely based on the generosity of @st165 and @Rustyoid and they have lives and jobs and stuff (I assume!) so they spend some effort here when they have a moment. It can take weeks for data to get linked together and updated appropriately whenever people have time. For example, I only run the map update program when significant changes have been made to the allocation data.

I assume you're talking about Vernon Toyota in BC? In this case one of those allocations is a Morizo. We do not see Morizos cars via the standard allocation process, I assume Toyota Canada drops them directly to the dealership of preference of the successful applicant. A Core and a Morizo were found based on VINs, and added to the data for that dealership all at once with my map update the other day, so it seems sudden.

Yes Vernon Toyota was the one I was looking at, that's crazy to hear one of them is a Morizo. That makes more sense why they'd suddenly get two. Hopefully that means the owner is a local and I might be able to see it sometime.

Any chance you can pull the colour of the Core they're getting? I know it doesn't really affect anything but I'm curious if it's the colour I told them I wanted since I'm supposed to be fairly high up their list.

Curious if you're able to tell the top 5 dealers in the GTA that got the most allocations? I'm told by some Toyota rep the CE allocations for Canada should be starting this month, but so far I'm just hearing crickets from my sales rep.

I would direct you to the map for the top dealers in GTA question.

You can zoom in on your area and look. By my eye the answer looks to be:
  1. Brimell Toyota, 3 cars
  2. Scarborough Toyota, 2 cars
  3. Don Valley North Toyota, 2 cars
  4. Stouffville Toyota, 2 cars
  5. Somewhere between 20 and 25 additional GTA dealers that got 1 car.
  6. It does look like Jackson's Toyota in Barrie got 2 cars, but I don't know if that's close enough to count.

As far as CE allocations, I am indeed seeing some Canadian VINs that look very much like Circuit Editions. They appear to have the Heavy Metal paint code (01L5). But until we get official allocations or somebody at Toyota looks at the VINs internally, I won't know for sure.

Hope you are first on the dealer waitlist otherwise it won’t happen anytime soon.
Yup, I am first :)

This is interesting, I would not think Brimell would get 3 cars since DVNT is the largest dealer in Ontario. I'm surprised Mississauga got 1 because the sales rep I'm talking to told me they only put in their orders recently and won't get their first allocations till December 2023. If the map is true, sounds like some BS i'm being told by the sales manager.

Using this as reference, would this indicate that these are the top 5 largest dealers in the GTA region? Looking to order other Toyota products in the future, at least I can try these specific ones instead of email bombing all around the GTA since some I know are a bit shady and rude.

Thanks for the effort of putting this together!

Thanks! Funny enough, I saw the white one at pickering show up on FB marketplace. Apparently they're now taking orders at MSRP for additional cars. I asked if there would be mandatory accessories and I couldn't get a straight answer. I can't see the ad anymore, so he just ended up blocking me 🤷‍♂️ Man can't even get back on the waitlist at MSRP it seems LOL

Unfortunately my dealer today said they were not taking anymore orders, sorry 😞. They were pretty surprised when I told them what that dealer was asking and when I told them some of the prices "used" ones are selling for.

All good man! I appreciate you asking! I'll just keep waiting for now to see what happens. Hopefully stock continues to go up...

Before you arm your pitch fork, it might be possible that Toyota sent out a "free" first car to every major/notable dealer, and may have to earn their way to future allocations.

Also some dealers that got 2 cars may not necessarily have kept both. Stouffville had a white one come in, but that was earmarked for Toyota Canada (corporate) and didn't make it into dealer stock.
Ok, that'll fall in line with other smaller dealer allocations. But good to know 2 dealers in the Scarborough region got more than 1.

Ah, thanks for claryfing.

I would say that at this stage, there is vastly more information available in the tracking spreadsheet than any individual dealer knows. By choice, because they could be obtaining the same information, but they typically are not. You will know more, and know it more promptly, by reading posts here and watching the spreadsheet. Then chasing each dealership once they get an allocation. Typically you will know about their allocation before they do as well.

Mississauga Toyota was given a black car during the last allocation round on Feb 21. Although the sales rep might not know that because the car likely has not arrived at the dealership yet.

Edit: Wanted to also point out that this data is continually refined and updated. It is possible that there is a mistake, and with such low overall counts being off by 1 looks huge. I did go carefully go over the backing data for all of the GTA dealerships that I mentioned and it all looks okay to me. But I am highly fallible and regularly wrong.

I don't think this data can tell you who the top five dealers are. This just tells you who got GR Corollas. We don't know what the heuristic is on how they are allocated, it might be different than other products and therefore the top dealerships might be different for other products.

I am just the data wrangler. The availability of this data is thanks to Rustyoid and st165.

I looked into this, Stouffville did get a white car way back in December. It was registered in late January. I wonder if this is the same car? Typically we try to not include cars that people cannot own in the allocation table because there's no point. Press cars, display cars, etc.

My local dealer called Friday and said that they are able to put orders in for 10 GRs. No word on if there are limits to which models or what. I put a deposit down for a Circuit and they put my order in the system. I guess we’ll see what comes of it.

Fingers crossed for you! And 10?? Are they taking deposits? Sounds a little fishy for that many allocations...

They don’t have a time line for how quickly all 10 will be filled, so I’m wondering if that’s over the whole production cycle of the GR.
Yeah, they were taking deposits to fill the 10 spots. They had 4 confirmed last time I talked to them.
