Have you tried a different brand phone to see if you get the same result? That's absolutely the first thing you should do.
Sometimes phones have a dB limit that you would need to uncheck. My S9+ (yes, still using an old phone) does this with BT devices.
Wacky idea but have you considered plugging the phone into the usb for the stereo? You could probably sidestep this issue entirely.
I've never used the satellite radio, probably never will, but having the phone plugged in or not doesn't affect the levels for android auto.

ive checked that first thought for me

the only thing that makes it better but not on par is selecting only media under Bluetooth settings for my phone

Dang. I have yet to try streaming my phone. Maybe the next time I drive it (not sure when that will be), I'll try it out and see how it is for my phone.

I can tell you for sure, that's the first thing a dealer technician would do.

This. Mine and my wife’s iPhone 5Cs (old) work great in our ‘21 hatch with jbl. It could be the android? OR a equalizer/sound setting within the phone like something that adds more bass or something that your phone is running that the jbl doesn’t support.
