They are correct. It must be a smooth surface for adhesion. I did the gloss plastic pillars on my Type R.

 

Your installer is correct. If you have a Core, much of the front end and rear diffuser are similarly non-PPFable for the same reason.

 

25 Premium. Only driven it three times so did not notice that those B Pillars would be problematic for PPF. Front is now gloss so that area along with diffuser can be covered in PPF.

 

What are you worried about with the B-pillars? They’re not a high-damage area, typically.

 

I have had gloss ones covered on previous cars, they do get marked up. I am not sure what these ones would look like after use but wanted PPF on them since entire car is getting covered.

 

The textured should be less likely to get scratched up, so you should be fine. Gloss is an absolute nightmare.

 

Just call a shop and see what their thoughts are on applying PPF to textured plastic

Not sure I could handle seeing that “TOM’S” every time I got in my car.

 

There are other companies that make them without the logo.

 

Those things cost $279!?

And I thought Jeep mods were expensive…
