Ever wondered who's leading in R&D for the G16E-GTS? Well it's lamspeed racing. Current world record holder for fastest/quickest G16E-GTS car which is a GR Yaris.




Charles Lam is the shop owner and is a wizard around these engines and his shop leads the GR platform at World Time Attack.

I'm waiting to see if someone puts them together to make an insane inline-six like someone did with a V16 LS
That was one of my first thoughts seeing this post. Lol. Make this into a straight 6, and you have an easy 2jz killer.

Mind if I ask what this build cost you? I imagine it wasn't cheap.
Approx (edit $7.4k USD for the turbo kit (opt3)
(Excluding including clutch, Fueling, Motec, temperature & pressure sensor and heat management in that price as they are additional things I wanted)

So, this is Thesius' G16? Lol. How much of the OG engine is left?
Of my personal car? Stock block, stock crank, stock pistons, stock rods, stock gearbox and drivetrain besides Cusco 1.5way LSD front and rear. This is essentially bolt ons. Internal changes for now is head studs, valve springs and retainers and cams. Won't turn it past 32psi until I do rods as it's the weak point. The OEM multi layer headgasket is good for 38-40psi max but you'll run into rod issues. lamspeed racing will be releasing a drop in headgasket that will hold better than OEM soon. Or if you're crazy they can do firerings for you.

I was more referring to that 900hp monster they built.

Yes please, I'd love to know what goes into a 900 HP G16 even if I'll never try to push even half that power.

Motive was pushing like 40 psi for 500 right? How much boost is needed for 900 HP.....

I'd assume they put in some big head studs since Motive found the head was lifting when pushing 40psi

Last thing I want is some kid thinking the car makes 900 hp on stock internals 😭

Either way though the development is awesome

Ugh... Being in the Focus community hurts my soul sometimes. So many stock Focus SE owners that claim to gap hellcats and Focus RS's and other insane cars. Meanwhile their engine caps out, tuned and modded, at 160whp.
