Unfortunately it's looking like I'm backing out of the GRC. I test drove a GR86 and man I can't give up that RWD experience.

I'm #2, 3, 6, and 10 at Pauly IL, Rockwall TX, One CA, and Longo CA Toyota respectively. I spent hours on hours calling 30+ dealerships to get MSRP spots. These deposits were placed around February/March. They are each $500 or $1000 refundable deposits, but I'd prefer these spots go to forum members, real enthusiasts!

Let me know.

Nice gesture, but I'm not sure the spots are transferable, though I could be wrong.

I can somehow see this going very poorly when you try to transfer it and the dealer says “we can’t do that” then someone gets screwed

I can totally see that too. Although, I do know this is very common with Porsche and Tesla. People on the forums selling or giving away their waitlist spots without issue. I just wasn't sure if this is a thing with Toyota. It's probably dealer to dealer? Or maybe I would have to facilitate, which I'd like to avoid...

Nice of you to offer this! I'd be interested in taking the One or Longo spots if they would actually do that.

Just a heads up, Rockwall will likely not be true true MSRP, best they can do is 2k package including wheel/tire warranty, tint, wheel locks. They did ask to see if I was a local as well, I can see them preferring a local if their list is long enough. But of course best of luck to everyone here!

Don't even try please, we on the lists can move up
Hmmm, valid point.

Not sure what the moral decision is in this case, but honestly I'd be surprised if a Toyota dealer actually allows a spot to be handed off. Especially since dealers already have more names than allocations.

I'd sort that out before getting ppl's hopes up (on both sides)

I would think the fairest thing to do is drop the position and let everyone move up in the order they signed up. While it doesn't effect the current position of everyone elsse in queue, it doesn't seem fair to let someone who didn't sign up, or signed up later to jump to the front, even if you don't charge for it. Then again, I suppose you have people who save/hold a place in queue for a friend or family member so you could treat it like that.

This.
Instead of 1 person getting the whole benefit, let everybody get a little bit of benefit.

Did you reserve at longo when it was before the GRC announcement and USA just knew about a hot hatch and just a gr Yaris kinda thing? Because I reserved months before announcement and I’m like 40. Seems rigged
